270. JOHN WM.⁵ WINKLE (LEVI⁴, JACOB C³, PETER², HENRY¹) was born in Dodson Twp Highland Co Oh 30 September 1880.⁽³⁶⁾ JOHN died 21 July 1942 in Jefferson Twp. Clinton Co. Oh, at 61 years of age.⁽³⁷⁾ His body was interred in Barnes Cem. Fairview, Highland Co Oh.

He married ELECTA EDITH SHAPER in White Oak Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, 06 November 1907.⁽³⁸⁾ ELECTA was the daughter of WILLIAM WESTLY SHAPER and ICY DORA LANDESS.

JOHN WM. WINKLE and ELECTA EDITH SHAPER had the following children:

+ 313 i. VIOLA ESTELLE⁶ WINKLE (still alive).

314 ii. NEVA ORDELLE WINKLE was born in White Oak Twp ., Highland Co., Ohio 02 August 1910. NEVA died 01 February 1989 in Hillsboro, Highland Co. Oh., at 78 years of age. Her body was interred in Martinsville, Clinton Co. Oh., Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cem. She married WENDELL CHARLES THOMPSON in Dayton Ohio, 23 February 1937. WENDELL was born in Clinton Co. Oh. WENDELL was the son of JOHN ANDREW THOMPSON and MARY ELIZABETH VAN PELT.

+ 315 iii. LEADORA ALICE WINKLE (still alive).

+ 316 iv. MERLIN LEO WINKLE was born 01 July 1920.
